Jacob LeFevre

 
LeFevre is also spelled Ferber, LaFevre, LaFever, Lefebre, LeFever,and LeFevere. It is from the original Northern French surname Lefebvre or Lefèvre. It means smith.
 

The first Europeans settled in the Northwest Territory in 1788. Migrants came from New York and New England. Ohio was admitted to the Union as the 17th state on March 1, 1803.

Jacob LeFevre was born on March 24, 1766 in Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His parents were John LeFevre and Anna Margaret Henning.

He married Rebecca Bachtell about 1790. Rebecca was born December 4, 1770 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Their children and life together are discussed in detail in the section on Jacob and Rebecca LeFevre.

Rebecca died February 3, 1829.

Jacob died November 8, 1844.

He was buried at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde, Sandusky County, Ohio.
